Colossus is the Utopia's monumental annual freestyle event hosting 700 dancers and has consistently been the biggest stand alone freestyle in the UK since our very first Twisted event started at The Colosseum way back in 2009. Since then both the event and The Colosseum have undergone changes that have dovetailed together to create the Colossus event we know and love today.
If you’re a dancer who loves to hear a great variety of music then this event will not only be a feast for your ears, but also a joy for your feet. In the huge Main Ballroom between 9.00pm and midnight we will be playing the very best of a broad section of freestyle music at regular freestyles speeds. However if up-tempo makes you downhearted, we'll be playing chilled & funky UTOPIA/SILC sounds in the 2nd room between 9.30pm & midnight and Pure Rhythm & Blues in the more intimate Forum Ballroom.
After 3½ hours of sublime up-tempo freestyle in the main ballroom, the music twists at midnight and all 3 rooms converge as we slide seamlessly into our much loved UTOPIA format of delicious chilled-out and SILCy tunes until 2.00am.
With amazing sound and lighting together with 7 DJs and the awesome array of dancers that attend every year it's an event not to be missed; which is why it sells out every year. Plus, if you book early you can attend at a bargain price!
And if you want to brush up on your dancing skills and learn new techniques and moves we have that too!
There will be a series of 4 inspirational workshops running during the day so you can make a day of it - learn in the afternoon and practice, play and freestyle to your heart's content in the evening. The workshops can be booked on a stand alone basis or as part of a discounted combined workshops and freestyle ticket. Parking is available in the Town Hall car park at the rear of the venue (access via Peace Prospect) or on the adjacent roundabout car park, both at the cost of approx £2. Watford Junction rail and Watford tube are a 10 minute walk away. Walk through the adjacent subway and you'll find all of Watford's restaurants, cafes and bars ahead of you.
IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION. We have limited capacity and also pride ourselves on gender balanced events, so you will need to book your space in advance Your reservation is confirmed only when your payment transaction has been accepted. If for any reason you are having problems booking your space then please email us via our Contact page HERE.
If the booking page says that solo ladies tickets are ON HOLD it means we are waiting for some more men to book before releasing any more ladies tickets. Please check our Facebook Page and Group for spare tickets first or find a nice man to book with.
CANCELLATION POLICY. Please note that refunds cannot be given, therefore if you are unable to go for whatever reason, you will need to sell your ticket to someone of the same gender. Simply post a short note on our Facebook group or page and wait for a buyer. After exchanging tickets please email us to advise us of the details via our Contact page HERE.
